Lebanon Mountain Trail in Palo Alto

The Lebanon Mountain Trail is Lebanon and the Arab World’s premiere national long-distance hiking trail. It extends for 440 kilometers, from Qobayat in Akkar to Marjaayoun in the South, covering 70 Lebanese villages and cities. It serves as a corridor for natural, cultural and architectural heritage conservation efforts and expands rural economic opportunities through responsible tourism in the mountains of Lebanon.

In partnership with LebNet, we invite our members to hear Joseph Karam, the Founder of Lebanon Mountain Trail, give a presentation about his wonderful initiative and the story behind its formation. He is visiting the Bay Area the week of Thanksgiving, and will give giving a talk in the Palo Alto area at 7 pm on Monday November 21st (the night prior to the Lebanese Independence Day!)

In Lebanon, the LMT Association (LMTA) is a non-sectarian, non-political non-governmental organization (NGO) with the mission to “develop, maintain and protect the Lebanon Mountain Trail.”

Joseph will be making a presentation to interested members of the Lebanese American community in the Bay Area. He will:

  1. Introduce the LMT with photos and a 13-minute video documentary
  2. Encourage attendees to visit the LMT communities, walk on the LMT when they visit Lebanon next, and spread the word about the LMT; and
  3. Solicit donations to support the LMT communities

Please let us know of your interest to attend by responding to gkadifa@gmail.com, and we will send you by next week the location of the meeting.

I wish he were leading a hike here in the Palo Alto foothills while talking about the Lebanon Mountain Trail!   Seems like a nice way to get out and here about a great effort.
